«Take revenge against creation: that desire to strike out with all one’s soul».(Peter Handke)

Psychosis 4. 48 is a portrayal where the only way out of loss is to look at the hard truth of one’s own suffering, it is a fight against a power that doesn’t, or merely pretends to, understand pain, sublimating it in a ballet of vain words, the radical decision to leave this world making one last stab at life. Nerval Teatro takes on one of the most difficult texts to bring onto the stage, contemporary writing with the tone of classical tragedy, a dizzying work that probes the biography of its author Sarah Kane.

“Elisa Pol is excellent at maintaining a subdued cadence, capturing the intimacy of this text beyond realism; she is not merely at the service of the direction but, with her slender figure, carves out her own space, with measured intensity and in full awareness of herself.”
[S. Nebbia, Teatro e Critica, July 8, 2011]

“The actress achieves moments of rare intensity in a show that becomes ever more beautiful, more resigned, more inevitable, and cruel.”

[M. Marino, Corriere di Bologna.it/Blog, July 4, 2011]
